Chambres d’Hôtes des Gens Heureux is located at the southern foot of the Cevennes nature park. The Cévennes National Park with its breathtakingly beautiful nature and its rugged landscape of green forested slopes, rugged rivers and rocky valleys. The area for beautiful walks and breathtaking views.
Cévennes National Park
The Cévennes National Park is rich in nice roads through inhospitable valleys, over steep mountain slopes and along picturesque villages. Wonderful touring by car or by motorcycle. For example, drive to Mont Aigoual, one of the highest peaks in this area and enjoy the view. The road to it is a challenge for cyclists, with nice villages to discover around it.
Grotte des Demoiselles
The Grotte des Demoiselles are located just south of the Cévennes near the town of Ganges. The cave is accessible through a kind of train. It encompasses an enormous space, called the Cathédrale des Abysses, with a number of beautiful structures that are also covered with glitter. One of them looks like a mother with a child and then of course the link to Maria is easily made. Et voila; the explanation of the name.
Cirque Navacelles
In the heart of the Causses and Cévennes, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, lies the “Cirque de Navacelles”. This cauldron valley originated from an old bend of the Vis river, which dug the valley into the limestone of the Causses. The river has since moved its course and left this natural wonder behind for us.
Pic Saint-Loup
In the Languedoc, near Montpellier, you will find the “Pic Saint Loup”, a natural viewpoint with a wide view over the Cevennes and the Mediterranean Sea. You can of course take beautiful walks here.
